Dancer and choreographer
Tomoko Mio (Nakasato), contemporary dancer and choreographer. Born in Hokkaido, Japan, she started her career as a Hip-Hop street dancer in the 1990s and studied contemporary dance and ballet. Dance projects with traditional Japanese instrumentalist Hutoshi Ikabe in Japan, and member of the performance group JINN in Berlin, a group of diverse artists working together on dance-performances in combination with spatial design, music and photography. Improvisation with electronic and noise music. Collaborations with Ilpo Väisänen (Pan Sonic, Angel), Dirk Dresselhaus (Schneider TM, Angel etc.), Jochen Arbeit (Einstürzende Neubauten), Damo Suzuki (ex-Can), Clara Hill and Takehito Koganezawa (Art/Video), Frank Bretschneider (Raster-Noton), Marcello Lussana (Composer) in Japan and Europe.
